One of my favorite scenes in “On Golden Pond” is when 80-year-old Norman, a prickly professor played by Henry Fonda, at the family summer house picks up an obvious family photo, glares at it, and angrily blurts out “Who ARE These People?” as he slams it back down on the table. I laugh…but I also “relate”…in a way.
Now in my 70’s, I look back at this photo of my high school basketball team and the memories flood over me. I’m frustrated at not remembering each person’s full name. Can’t believe I would forget – you see, basketball was my “life”, my focus and joy, and a source of the most profound lessons and times in my growing up.
Okay, I am the freshman standing on the far right, junior varsity suit (but I was good enough to ‘play up’ on varsity at times) and yes, note the popular cat-eye glasses (believe it or not). After breaking 4-5 pairs of glasses in one year, my parents agreed to allow the optometrist to fit me with the new (but now virtually obsolete) hard contact lenses that covered the full cornea of the eye. Wow – I loved it – peripheral vision and no cuts around the nose and eyes from whacks to the face in basketball. Who says girls are fragile and non-aggressive in sports? Not me!
So the fun comes when I show this photo to my granddaughters who now play basketball and other sports. First words out of their mouths – look at those short shorts! Then I have to laugh with them and tell them our school dress code (no pants and certainly no shorts) which the principal enforced by having a girl go down on her knees. If the hem of her dress or skirt did not touch the floor, she had to go home and change clothes. They howl at this!
Then I am pricked by a guilty conscience at not having memorialized for them (and me) my photos and stories. But Rhonda Anderson just shared with us a way to do this, quickly and easily, in the Naked Photo Album. It’s a product they are creating for the people who say:
- I don’t have time to scrapbook
- I can’t decide what I need to purchase
- I am confused about what to do and want to know how to do it
Here’s how it will be promoted when it is ready for sale:
AND HERE’S THE REALLY GOOD NEWS – several on the training I attended, including Rhonda Anderson, said this was their personal album style because they had so many photos and so little time. So, based on their suggestions and descriptions, I have put together your own Practice Simple Style Photo Album outline that you can start using today with the products available (and some on sale) right now.
NOTE: This outline is NOT gender-specific (jump in, guys) and it is not advanced training (if you have never done an album, you can do this one, I promise). Just click on the download and it will lead you through getting your own Photo Album DONE!
P.S. BONUS for the scrapbookers out there. If you want to see the full presentation by Rhonda Anderson (May 14, 2019 Team Call), you can go to the recording at the Facebook Group for Our Memories for Life. It has not only a presentation full of tips by Yvette Wevodau on how to make your photo events successful and profitable, Yvette has shared her physical catalog she created for her customers including the last page with a spot for their YGY ID# and password. Makes it easy for them to order. Yvette says to feel free to contact her for more info. Go check it out!
