A few weeks ago I blogged about sugar (“By Any Other Name”…click HERE to read it).
Actually, I was focused on the “added sugar” problems and truly encouraged reading labels in order to eliminate or highly reduce the fructose in added sugars which is linked to some major health issues. Not to mention how toxic it is to our bodies.
In that blog I promised to introduce you to a special guest who would address some of those health concerns I raised.
Her name is Nicolette Dumke and she has been a friend for many years – but our original introduction was in a legal case where I represented her as she was publishing her first book “Allergy Cooking With Ease”.
Writing her book grew from keeping her son Joel happy on a very restricted diet – he had a plethora of allergies. And being a 4-year-old, she worked hard to develop food that looked like what everyone else was eating yet kept him from the foods that he could not consume.
Sixteen years later, and in the aftermath of COVID, she has completed her Third Edition of the book. And written many others along the way. In this interview, you will get a bit of her perspective plus highlights from a few of the important books in the video clips I will share here (and a few I will share in the future blogs). The revisions were also made to the recipes she includes in her books, which are many!
Quote from her intro: “…most of the new recipes and recipe changes are due to my increasing awareness of health problems which can be caused or worsened by sugar consumption. I learned so much from Nickie – and appreciate her deep research and great recipes developed in response to having met so many allergies and learned how to “eat differently” in order to defeat their negative impact on the body.
